Abbott | China issues a warning to consumers not to use recalled Abbott infant formula

Chinese customs has warned consumers not to purchase and eat certain Abbott Labs infant and baby products that have been affected by recent recalls related to US factories. In a post posted on its website on Sunday, the Directorate General of Customs referred to his Feb. 18 notice from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), saying that certain batches of Abbott’s infant formula product meals would be discontinued.

Said there was. However, one of the items affected by the issue, the Similac breast milk booster, is being sold in China, and Abbott has announced a voluntary recall of the affected batch, he added. Abbott, whose shares fell about 3.1% on Monday, said in a statement that it had issued a batch recall from its Michigan factory and that other goods it sold in China were unaffected. Other countries are urging consumers to stop using some Abbott prescription products, according to the China Customs Post.

I warned consumers not to buy or sell. A day earlier, Abbott said it was recalling infant formula containing Similac made at its Michigan facility. With four consumers complaining of bacterial infections in babies who consumed them. China Customs said that although the affected formula dairy products were not sold directly in China, some consumers who may have purchased them from abroad through cross-border e-commerce should stop using them.

Oman’s health ministry on Monday warned against using two of Abbott’s infant formulas due to possible bacterial contamination. Oman’s statement followed similar warnings from the Saudi Food and Drug Administration regarding three of his formulas made by Abbott.
