South Dairy Trade ARGENTINA:

During the period from June 1, 2023, to June 15, 2023, the Argentine dairy market experienced some significant results. The average total price of exported dairy products was $4249.78 per ton. Argentine dairy exports reached 15 different destinations, which is still relatively low compared to the beginning of the year when they reached around 20 different destinations. As for the exported volume, a total of 5722.13 tons of dairy products were shipped abroad during the mentioned period.

WMP: Decreased by 0.6% compared to the previous period, reaching USD 3970.08.

SMP: Increased by 0.1% compared to the previous period, reaching USD 3679.65. Semi-hard Cheese: Increased by 0.7% compared to the previous period, reaching USD 4585.09.

Hard Cheese: Decreased by 3.8% compared to the previous period, reaching USD 6053.61.

Butter: Increased by 5.7% compared to the previous period, reaching USD 4706.78.

Buttermilk: Increased by 3.2% compared to the previous period, reaching USD 3200.

Regarding the milk powders: The average price of WMP during this period was 3970.08 dollars per ton. It observed a decrease of 0.6% compared to the previous period. As for SMP during the mentioned period, the average price was 3679.65 dollars per ton, showing a negligible increase of 0.1% compared to the previous period. The exported tonnages for WMP and SMP were 3,578.72 and 345.90, respectively.

Semi-hard Cheese: The semi-hard cheese had an average price of 4585.09 dollars per ton, representing a 0.7% increase compared to the previous period, with a total of 840 tons exported.

Hard Cheese: During the period in question, the average price of hard cheese was 6053.61 dollars per ton, with a significant decrease of 3.8% compared to the previous period. This reduction may be related to factors such as changes in supply and demand, variations in production costs, or competition in the international market.

Butter: The average price of butter during this period was 4706.78 dollars per ton. It observed a significant increase of 5.7% compared to the previous period, with a total of 550 tons exported.

Buttermilk: During the mentioned period, the average price of Buttermilk was 3200 dollars per ton, showing an increase of 3.2%. The only export destination was Brazil.

The dairy market experienced certain fluctuations in the supply and demand of different products. During the period from July 1, 2023, to July 15, 2023, the Uruguayan dairy market showed the following results: The average total price of exported dairy products was 3836.53 dollars per ton, destined for 18 different international markets. This wide distribution of destinations indicates a diversification of the markets to which Uruguay exports its dairy products, which is positive to reduce dependence on a single market, which is Brazil, and increase export stability. A total of 5752.64 tons of dairy products were exported during this period.

WMP: Decreased by 7.7% compared to the previous period, reaching USD 3,735.15.

SMP: Increased by 2.8% compared to the previous period, reaching USD 3,840.98. Semi-hard Cheese: Decreased by 11.3% compared to the previous period, reaching USD

4,917.06.

Hard Cheese:    Decreased   by   7.9%   compared   to        the previous period, reaching USD

6,103.98.

Butter: Increased by 3.4% compared to the previous period, reaching USD 5,203.88. Buttermilk: No exports were recorded during this period.

WMP: During this period, the average price was 3,735.15 dollars per ton with a decrease of 7.7% compared to the previous period. SMP had an average price of 3,840.98 dollars per ton, showing an increase of 2.8%. This increase may indicate higher demand for skimmed milk powder in international markets or limited availability of this product during the analyzed period. As known, Brazil remains the main destination for milk powders.

Semi-hard Cheese: Showed an average price of 4,917.06 dollars per ton, representing a decrease of 11.3% compared to the previous period.

Hard Cheese: During the period in question, the average price of hard cheese was 6,103.98 dollars per ton. This product also experienced a decrease of 7.9% compared to the previous period. This reduction may be influenced by various factors such as changes in international demand for hard cheese or fluctuations in production costs. The market in Russia was reactivated in this case.

Butter: Butter had an average price of 5,203.88 dollars per ton during this period, showing an increase of 3.4%. This increase may be attributed to higher interest from international markets in Uruguayan butter, as it has diversified to destinations such as the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, etc.

Buttermilk: No exports of Buttermilk were recorded during this period.
