NEW MIDWEST DAIRY CEO LOOKS TO BUILD TRUST WITH YOUNGER CONSUMERS

The new CEO of Midwest Dairy is looking to build trust with consumers.

Corey Scott tells Brownfield increasing dairy consumption is the intention of the Checkoff and they use consumer research as a guide.

“Some of the generations coming behind us, so I’m a millennial, we’re being followed by Gen Z, and there’s a fair amount of research that points to a bit of lack of trust in dairy.”

She says they are targeting other consumer bases as well.

“So you’re going to hear (about) us doing some work with thought leaders in health and nutrition, where we have a good long-standing history of trust. But also with sustainability thought leaders, because that’s one space where we have a unique opportunity to tell our story better.”

Scott says younger generations are also consuming dairy products differently so Midwest Dairy will be focusing on research and innovation to meet those changes.
