Renovations and expansion are en route to a facility in Chilton as a well-known Wisconsin dairy manufacturer broke ground at the site on Monday.

Located in southeastern Wisconsin, Grande Cheese Company has manufactured fine Italian cheeses and various lactose products for over 80 years. The newly acquired facility in Chilton will undergo an estimated 20,000 square feet of renovations with 60,000 of new construction.

According to a release, the facility will become the third largest in the company with the focus being mozzarella cheese production. Expected to be completed in the middle of 2026, the facility will be a 75-person operation with new hires and transfers staffing it.
