Hot weather, avian influenza, and scarce replacement heifers were noted as the three main factors contributing to tight milk supplies and healthier prices in the most recent T.C. Jacoby Dairy Market Report. Pipestone Livestock Market in Pipestone, Minn. also noted “very strong markets and lots of demand for open heifers” in early August.
