New Zealand Trade and Enterprise helped showcase extensive Malaysia-New Zealand business ties during Prime Minister Rt Hon Christopher Luxon’s visit to Malaysia.
A new era of collaboration was launched during a partnership agreement signing ceremony with the Prime Minister in Malaysia.
A total of ten new or expanded partnership agreements between Malaysian and New Zealand companies were witnessed by Mr Luxon at the event, which promoted New Zealand’s world-class capabilities in innovation, tech and premium food and beverage, and supported the Government’s ambition to double the value of exports over the next ten years.

Pacific Edge formalised a distribution and testing services agreement with Premier Integrated Labs, the sole supplier of laboratory services to IHH Healthcare, which includes the three largest individual hospitals in Malaysia.
Malaysia is currently New Zealand’s 9th largest trading partner with two-way trade worth $4.5 billion in the year to March 2024. With a young, fast-growing population, an upper-middle class economy, and a strategic location in Southeast Asia, Malaysia is a popular destination for New Zealand exporters.
In addition to the signing ceremony, a number of other business milestones were achieved during the mission.
Skyline Luge, represented by Business Delegation Leader and Skyline Director, Sarah Ottrey, celebrated its 1 millionth rider, just nine months after the launch of the iconic kiwi attraction in Kuala Lumpur, helping to grow connections across the tourism sector.
New Zealand healthcare solutions provider, Fertility Associates, marked the opening of its newest clinic in Malaysia. The clinic will integrate Fertility Associates’ advanced technologies and inclusive approach to increase access to fertility treatment in the market.
Fonterra announced it is expanding its foodservice capacity in Asia with plans to build a new UHT cream plant at its Edendale site in Southland, New Zealand. Fonterra also shared its innovative and sustainable story with a sampling experience of its halal and non-halal offerings in Malaysia with the Business Delegation.
