Saputo announces new senior leadership appointments

Dairy company Saputo has announced several new appointments to its senior leadership team, effective immediately.

The new appointments will support Carl Colizza, who took up the role of president and CEO at Saputo on 9 August 2024.

Frank Guido has been appointed to the role of COO. In this role, he will oversee North America, Europe and international operations. He will play a key role in the company’s efforts to drive growth and operational results, with all divisional president and COOs reporting to Guido.

Guido brings a 25-year track record in the CPG industry. He has held senior management positions in operations, supply chain, continuous improvement and finance at several public companies. Most recently, Guido served as president and COO for Saputo’s USA dairy division.

A newly created position of chief commercial officer (CCO) has been initiated, with Leanne Cutts stepping into the role. Cutts will be responsible for driving commercial strategy, sales development in global markets and channels, and overseeing marketing, brand management and market insights functions for all divisions. She joined Saputo in 2021, and since then has served as president and COO for international and Europe.

Cutts has over 30 years of experience in branding, marketing, product development and commercial activities for global businesses in F&B, finance and consumer healthcare.

Dominick Bombino has been appointed to the role of president and COO for Saputo’s USA dairy division, succeeding Guido. He has been with Saputo for more than 25 years, where he has held diverse roles in both operational and commercial leadership in the US and Canada. Most recently he served as senior vice president of sales for the USA dairy division.

Steve Douglas has been appointed to the role of president and COO for Saputo’s UK dairy division. He has been with the company for more than 30 years and most recently served as senior vice president of operations and supply chain for Saputo’s USA dairy division. Saputo said that Douglas played an ‘instrumental’ role in streamlining the company’s supply chain and improving efficiencies.

He succeeds Tom Atherton, who will be leaving Saputo to pursue other opportunities but will remain with the company until the end of the calendar year to support Douglas during the transition period. Atherton has been president and COO for the UK dairy division since 2019 following Saputo’s acquisition of Dairy Crest Group, where he held various senior management positions since 2005.
