Two San Antonio school districts faced issues with their milk supply last week after multiple reports from students.

Northside Independent School District stopped serving strawberry milk after reports of three students from separate elementary schools allegedly became ill due to it.

They confirmed the milk served on that day, Sept 18, had not expired and have been talking to the vendor, Hygeia/Oak Farms Dairy.

San Antonio Independent School District stopped serving select milk last week after a student reported receiving milk with a different consistency.

According to SAISD, the cafeteria manager alerted Child Nutrition Services, who contacted all schools to pull the milk from the affected batch. The milk in this circumstance was also not expired.

“We were made aware of a reported incident with a small sample of TruMoo strawberry milk cartons in the Northside ISD and San Antonio ISD. Out of an abundance of caution, we disposed of the milk and are working with our partners at TruMoo to determine the root cause of the issue and will support any corrective action necessary,” said Oak Farms Dairy in a statement.
