Analysis of the Uruguayan Dairy Market – Second Half of February 2025
In the second half of February 2025, the Uruguayan dairy market experienced a recovery in terms of price, although the volume exported decreased compared to the first half of the month.
The average export price increased by 14.2%, from U$D 3,561.71/Ton in the first fortnight to U$D 4,067.35/Ton in the second. In contrast, the volume of exports fell by 20.2%, from 9,715.76 tons in the first fortnight to 7,751.14 tons in the second. However, the number of destinations grew from 23 to 30, indicating greater trade diversification.
Monthly analysis – February 2025
At the monthly level, exports totaled 17,466.90 tons, with an average price of U$D 3,801.04/Ton. In general terms, February showed a mixed dynamic: a beginning with higher volumes but lower prices, followed by a second fortnight with a lower quantity exported but better quotations. This behavior could be related to fluctuations in international demand, specific trade agreements or export strategies aimed at optimizing revenues in more profitable markets. The evolution of the market in March will be key to determine whether this upward trend in prices continues.
