The Canadian Podcow is a podcast hosted by dairy farmers, for dairy farmers. Hosts Andrew Campbell, a dairy farmer from southern Ontario; and Sarah Sache, a dairy farmer from British Columbia, tackle important topics that are relevant to dairy farming, including market analysis, outlooks and trends.

“Trying to better understand issues like how avian influenza impacts milk production is fascinating for me as a dairy farmer,” Andrew says. “I put on my farmer’s hat for every conversation, regardless of the guest.”

The French-language counterpart, Entre deux traites, delves into the same topics for a Francophone audience. Host and dairy producer Alain Lemieux brings a lively perspective to conversations with a wide range of guests from across the sector.

In preparation for the Dairy Farmers of Canada (DFC) annual general meeting this July in Toronto, farmers can take a deep dive into the topics and presentations from DFC’s 2025 Annual Dairy Policy Conference (ADPC). All three hosts were live on location at the ADPC in Ottawa, holding in-depth interviews and insightful conversations with presenters on key topics.

These episodes include a conversation with the secretary general of the European Dairy Association, Alexander Anton, who offered his European perspective on dairy; DFC Chief Marketing and Communications Officer Pamela Nalewajek on how “buying Canadian” can positively impact dairy; and an outlook from DFC’s Julia Trottier and Maxime Collette on the dairy market for 2025.

In 2024, the Canadian Podcow was selected among the Top 15 Canadian Agriculture Podcasts by Feedspot.

Both podcasts can be found on all major podcasting platforms, as well as at CanadianPodcow.ca and EntreDeuxTraites.ca. You can also watch Andrew and Sarah interview some of their guests on YouTube.

Farmers: Join us in Toronto for the Dairy Farmers of Canada 2025 annual general meeting, July 13-16

We live in a time of constant innovation and change, both in the dairy sector and beyond. In response, our industry has continuously adapted to global instability, changing political views both at home and abroad, evolving consumer tastes and preferences, and the ever-growing need for increased sustainability efforts to mitigate climate change. Amid this landscape, Canadians have come to understand, in very concrete ways, what it means to be vulnerable to supply issues and the importance of Canadian food sovereignty as we endeavor to protect our national food security and self-sufficiency.

We invite dairy farmers to join us from Sunday, July 13 to Wednesday, July 16, as we discuss the key issues affecting our sector today and the tools we must use to succeed and thrive in times of change. Register now on the Dairy Farmers of Canada website.

Dairy Farmers of Canada (DFC) is the national policy, lobbying and promotional organization representing Canadian dairy producers. DFC strives to create stable conditions for the dairy sector in our country. It also seeks to maintain policies that promote the sustainability of Canadian dairy production and promote dairy products and their health benefits. Visit DFC’s website for more information.
