The board voted 4-0 to approve the application from the New York State Downtown Anchor Program on behalf of Goco Ventures LLC.
Goco wants to open what Deputy Mayor Matt Lebire described as a “value-added dairy with a storefront” at 37 Water St.
They will be required to match 25% of the $500,000 in cash with up to a 5% administrative fee, the resolution says.
“We’re very very confident in the Goco venture people. They have a very solid idea, very good background,” Lebire said. “Committed to the region, downtown and Massena and I’m excited for this potential.”
Goco Ventures is run by William Fiacco and Susan Fiacco.
Last year, they received $1 million from the state’s Restore NY program to open a brewpub in the former grist mill on Water Street. That has not yet opened.
