“The biggest part of the investment, 1.8 million marka, will be directed to our dairy Inmer in Gradacac, as the goal is to increase production capacities of the dairy and contribute towards higher productivity and energy efficiency,” news portal Klix.ba quoted Lactalis BH representatives as saying last week.
With the investment, the company will continue to purchase and process milk from local farmers and regardless of the situation with the novel coronavirus disease, it will not fire workers or reduce salaries.
“We collaborate with 2,000 local farmers and cooperatives, from whom we buy some 120,000 litres of milk per day,” the company representatives said.
According to the media report, Lactalis Group has invested more than 30 million marka in Lactalis BH and Inmer so far. Lactalis acquired Inmer in 2007 for seven million euro, after the company entered a strategic partnership with Croatia’s biggest dairy Dukat [ZSE:LURA], which Lactalis bought earlier the same year.
