Commenting on the impact of Covid-19 on dairy prices, Stanevics said that during the state of emergency period, Food Union did not reduce dairy product prices, but did not increase them. “It turned out that at the time of the introduction of the state of emergency there was a coordinated increase in prices due to the increase in raw material prices, but when the state of emergency began, we decided to freeze sales prices for stores,” said Stanevics.
According to him, Food Union currently sees no reason to increase the prices of its dairy products, while ice cream is being offered at a discount.
Stanevics added that in response to the fall in milk purchase prices around the world, raw milk prices fell at the beginning of the crisis. They have now stabilized for a few months now.
