The Madison FFA Chapter placed second in the dairy cattle evaluation and management career development event at the 93rd Missouri FFA Convention held April 30 – May 1 at Sedalia. There were 25 teams in the competition.
Madison High School's FFA chapter membes consisting of (front row) teacher/advisor Katie wantland, and students Peyton Hook, Mallory Greiwe, and (second row) Joe O'Bannon and Hunter Stockhorst, placed second in the dairy cattle evaluation and management career development category at the 2021 Missouri FFA Satate Covention held abril 30- May 1 in Sadalia. The team members include Hunter Stockhorst, Peyton Hook, Mallory Greiwe and Joe O’Bannon. Stockhorst placed second, Hook placed tenth, Greiwe placed 19th and Obbannon placed 32nd out of 94 participants. The Madison FFA advisor is Katie Wantland.

Individuals in this event are scored based on how well they apply dairy cattle evaluation skills learned in the classroom. Each team evaluates six classes of four dairy cattle and presents oral reasons on their evaluations.

Sponsored by University of Missouri College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, this CDE is one way the FFA prepares student members for career success. CDEs engage student learning and make a real connection to lifetime goals.

The number of dairy producers across Britain stood at an estimated 7,200 in October 2024, according to figures released by the AHDB.
