Local dairy farmer Kip Siegler is once again partnering with a local restaurant to give out free ice cream cones in honor of the United Dairy Industry of Michigan’s (UDIM) ‘Scoop It Forward’ campaign.
Starting today, July 28, the first 100 customers at Charlie Brown’s will receive a free cone of their choice. The generous offer continues through Saturday, July 31. In all, Siegler will cover the tab for 400 cones—100 per day.
Last year, Siegler partnered with Dairy Queen in Imlay City for the promotion but he’s decided to spread the ice cream love around and had headed south to Almont.
“I wanted to work with Charlie Brown’s this year because that place is such a iconic part of Almont. People love that place,” Kip said, adding that his fiancee, Rochelle, recently introduced him to Charlie Brown’s owner Michele Breen.
Kip said he’s inspired to give back to the community and promote the health benefits of dairy products.
Kip and his family members operate Siegler Dairy Farm in Imlay Township. The Scoop It Forward campaign is just one of many promotions Kip has undertaken in recent years to promote the dairy industry and help educate consumers.
He has a following of more than 25,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel ‘Kip Siegler Farming’ where he shares videos about cow care, growing crops and much more. Photos from the farm and other ag-related information is also posted on the Siegler Dairy Farm Facebook page. He regularly visits schools to talk about dairy farming and last year donated a 30-gallon dairy cooler to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church food pantry through a UDIM pilot program.
