Australian milk output rose 0.6% in February, but season-to-date production remains below last year.
Australian February Milk Rises

National dairy production posted modest growth in February, although season-to-date volumes remain below last year.

National milk output lifted 0.6% YOY in February, taking season-to-date output 1.0% behind the year-ago comparative.

Across the states, output was mixed. Victorian milk production declined 0.1% YOY for the month, with season-to-date output –1.7% behind the prior comparable. February output rose 4.7% YOY in NSW, with seasonal output +2.4% ahead of the prior season. In Tasmania, output rose +0.4% YOY, and season-to-date production is +1.6% higher than the year prior. In South Australia, milk output fell 3.9% YOY, with seasonal output down –6.5% on the prior-year comparable.
