Rowe, formerly CFO at US-based Darigold and Commercial Director at Fonterra Brands Australia, succeeds Naomi Verloop to drive the next phase of infant formula growth.

Specialty infant nutrition producer Bubs Australia Limited has appointed Chris Rowe as its new Chief Financial Officer, following the resignation of Naomi Verloop. Verloop, who held the position since February 2025, stepped down after contributing significantly to the company’s financial governance, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement framework during a critical transition period. Bubs CEO Joe Coote and the board of directors formally acknowledged Verloop’s executive contributions to the ASX-listed company and wished her success in her future endeavors.

Rowe steps into the role with over 30 years of top-tier executive experience across the international dairy, infant formula supply, and consumer packaged goods sectors. His diverse background spans financial management, corporate strategy, information technology, legal governance, and mergers and acquisitions. Notably, his career includes senior leadership roles across key markets in Australia, Asia, and the United States, including serving as Commercial Director of Fonterra Brands Australia and, most recently, as B2B President and CFO of Seattle-based dairy cooperative Darigold.

The CFO transition comes at a time when Bubs Australia is actively navigating persistent macroeconomic and supply chain pressures. According to the company’s latest financial updates, the business has faced a challenging operating environment due to evolving regulatory requirements, product availability constraints, geopolitical disruptions in the Middle East, and elevated air freight costs incurred to support retail re-stocking programs. Despite these headwinds, Bubs maintains a robust balance sheet that provides the financial flexibility needed to manage near-term cost pressures.

CEO Joe Coote emphasized that Rowe’s deep-seated understanding of core export markets, coupled with his strong track record in capital allocation and business transformation, makes him uniquely qualified to lead Bubs’ financial division. Rowe’s immediate mandates will include driving operational efficiencies, executing disciplined capital programs, and enhancing overall shareholder value. His global experience is expected to be a major asset as Bubs seeks to expand its premium clean-label goat milk and grass-fed infant formula portfolios across high-growth international destinations, including the United States and China.

With Rowe at the financial helm, Bubs Australia aims to translate its strategic vision into consistent operational execution while continuing to invest heavily in brand activation and global distribution footprint expansion. The company’s ability to successfully stabilize its supply chain and mitigate rising logistics costs will remain a key focus for institutional investors as the new leadership team works to solidify Bubs’ competitive position in the global infant nutrition sector.
