Dairy month in Wisconsin is not complete without going to your local dairy breakfast. Getting up early to tour a farm, riding a tractor and eating ice cream and cheese curds for breakfast.

”We love our dairy experiences, what better way to get our neighbors surrounded in ag,” says Gina Wolfe, the president of the Buffalo County Dairy Promotion Committee.

It also provides an opportunity for people to actively learn about their local agriculture.

This year in Buffalo County, Mar-Bec Dairy hosted the annual breakfast. The family knew what to expect, as they hosted the event back in 2012, making them the first farm in county history to host the breakfast for a second time. Co-owner Jonathon Hallock says he is just proud to be representing the dairy community.

”We are getting to be fewer and fewer numbers but it’s great to see the number of people who are curious about what we do here and we get the chance to share our story and what we do here,” says Hallock, “I’m always humbled and thankful to tell that story.”

The multi-generational dairy has been around since 1993, and they’re always happy to show visitors everything they’re doing on the farm.

The breakfast was originally scheduled for Saturday, but it was rescheduled to Sunday due to rain. Despite that change, over 1,000 people came to support their local dairy farmers.

“It’s very humbling to see the amount of people who came out to support us today,” says Hallock

It’s no secret that agriculture is one of Idaho’s biggest economic drivers, as it’s worth billions of dollars.
