Coles is seeking to buy milk directly from dairy farmers.
Some dairy farmers may get a boost in their milk price after Coles and Woolworths announced the end of $1 litre milk on some lines.

The new sourcing model for its own branded milk would effectively end the relationship between supplier and processor.
The supermarket says it’ll offer a competitive farm gate price to farmers, Coles will separately pay processor Saputo to process and bottle the milk under a processing agreement.
To find out more about the proposal and it’s impact on farmers, rural reporter Eddie Summerfield caught up with Australian Dairy Farmers Chief Executive David Inall:
