Community invited to have say on environment strategy
Moira Shire Council Chair Administrator Graeme Emonson says community input is critical to ensure the strategy reflects local needs and values.

Moira Shire Council is calling for community input into a key strategy to guide council’s decision-making around environmental sustainability over the next five years.

The Environmental Sustainability Strategy 2025-2030 is undergoing development, and council is looking for residents to share their views on issues such as waste and recycling, climate change adaptation and sustainable transport.

Council Chair Administrator Graeme Emonson said community input was critical to ensure the strategy reflected local needs and values.

“We’re asking important questions, like, what does an environmentally sustainable Moira Shire look like to you, and what can the council do to help community and businesses make environmentally friendlier choices?” he said.

“Whether you’re passionate about preserving our waterways, biodiversity, reducing waste, or strengthening climate resilience, this is your chance to make a real impact for our environment and help inform our future strategies.”

Residents are invited to share their concerns by visiting the council website at moiramatters.com.au/environmental-sustainability-strategy and scrolling halfway down the page.

Opportunities to have your say close on Monday, November 18.
