An assembly of Sardinian dairy farmers on Tuesday agreed on their milk-price demands ahead of a meeting on the issue in Rome on Thursday.
The farmers have been protesting for weeks at how low the price of milk has dropped, dumping milk on the street on several occasions. The assembly of the movement of Sardinian dairy farmers agreed on the draft of a potential agreement that would see the price they get for milk going up at once to 80 cents a litre, compared to 72 cents proposed at talks with Agriculture Minister Gian Marco Centinaio on Saturday, and then rising to one euro a litre by the end of the season.

When Western Australian dairy farmer Colin Gilbert wanted to sell his award-winning Guernsey herd, he chose to take all 50 head on a 3000km road trip to Rochester.
