Dairy herds in Cavan and Monaghan are being unfairly blamed for increased rates of TB in the region.

ICMSA Deputy President Lorcan McCabe said the issue of wildlife causing the disease still remains.

He’s called for an all-Ireland approach to TB, saying the disease knows no border, the most recent data shows TB is most prevalent in Monaghan, Cavan and North Meath.

Speaking to Northern Sound, Lorcan McCabe said the greater risk of TB in dairy herds is only due to a greater number of animals.
