BenViero TerraLux turns dairy waste into organic nitrogen fertilizer for sustainable crop production.
Dairy Waste Becomes Organic Fertilizer Breakthrough

BenViero TerraLux is transforming dairy lagoon nutrients into a high-value nitrogen product for organic crop growers.

BenViero TerraLux is emerging as a new player in the organic fertilizer market by converting dairy waste into a concentrated nitrogen product. Working with agricultural supplier Wilbur-Ellis, the company captures nitrogen from dairy lagoon effluent and refines it into a fertilizer that can be used by organic producers seeking more efficient nutrient tools.

The process addresses one of the dairy sector’s longstanding environmental challenges: how to manage manure nutrients while reducing waste. Instead of leaving nitrogen in lagoons, the system extracts and distills it into a more stable, transportable form. The result is a product that turns a disposal issue into a potential revenue stream for dairy operations.

According to the report, the fertilizer provides a 50/50 ammonium-nitrate balance, giving organic growers a product that behaves more like conventional nitrogen fertilizers. That characteristic is especially important for producers who want more predictable crop performance and easier handling while remaining within organic standards.

The technology could create new opportunities across both the dairy and crop sectors. Dairy farms gain an additional outlet for manure nutrients, while organic fruit, vegetable and row-crop growers receive access to a domestically produced fertilizer at a time when nitrogen supplies remain volatile and expensive.

Industry analysts see the concept as part of a broader push toward circular agriculture and nutrient recycling. By linking dairy waste management with organic fertilizer production, BenViero TerraLux and Wilbur-Ellis are positioning themselves at the intersection of sustainability, dairy economics and the growing demand for regenerative farming inputs.
