Rosemary Corcoran’s inherent love for cows has led to a collection of more than 600 cow ornaments and toys.

The Irish national grew up in County Cork in southern Ireland.

It wasn’t until she moved to Australia in 2013 that she discovered her love for cows.

She worked at a dairy farm in Finley for about four years before challenging herself further in the agriculture industry, cropping for the next three years.

Her passion for cows drew her back to her first dairy farm in Finley where she now works as the second in charge.

‘‘One of the first things I received was a stuffed cow which still resides in my room,’’ she said.

‘‘It’s quite hard to find unique items to add to my collection so I’m always searching.’’

While Rosemary was milking herds in late October, she saw an advertisement in which 500 ornamental cows were for sale.

She quickly phoned the owners of the collection, Lynn and Barry Gavin in Cootamundra, and moments later she was the proud owner of the ornaments.

The collection includes money banks, salt and pepper shakers, clocks, pencil sharpeners, a bell, a watch, lights, milk and cream jugs, pot holders, plates, paper aeroplanes, a rubber, castanets, a notepad, puppets, a child’s story booklet, pot holders, a butter dish, soft toys, a sugar bowl, a child’s eating set, stress ball, tooth pick holder, ice cream scoop, milk shake jugs, crumb sweeper, table power vacuum, soap, picture frame, cookie jar and candles.

Her love for cows is not only shown by her occupation or extensive collection, but is also inked into her skin.

“The day before I picked up all the ornaments, I got a tattoo of cows,” she said.
