Wisconsin’s Farmer-Led Board Sets Course for Industry Growth & Strategy.

The Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin (DFW) board of directors has announced its Executive Committee for Fiscal Year 2026, alongside welcoming newly elected members. This critical leadership team, comprising twenty-five dedicated dairy farmer leaders selected by their peers from across the state, will guide the organization’s strategic efforts from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026. Their collective focus remains squarely on propelling Wisconsin’s renowned dairy industry forward and bolstering support for dairy producers.

Janet Clark has been re-elected to serve as Board Chair for an impressive fourth consecutive term, signaling strong continuity in DFW’s leadership. Complementing her role, the board has also appointed the FY2026 Executive Committee, featuring Tasha Schleis as Vice Chair, Sandra Madland as Secretary, and Mark Crave as Treasurer. This experienced team is poised to provide robust oversight and strategic direction for the organization’s initiatives in dairy marketing and industry development.

The annual election meeting in July also saw the seating of eight directors, integrating fresh perspectives with seasoned experience. Two new members officially joined the board, while six directors were re-elected for additional three-year terms. This blend of new and returning leadership ensures a continuous flow of insights and a deep understanding of the diverse challenges and opportunities facing Wisconsin dairy farmers, reinforcing farmer-led agribusiness governance.

Chad Vincent, CEO of DFW, underscored the indispensable role of the board members’ leadership and profound insight in the sustained success of Wisconsin’s vibrant dairy community. He emphasized that these farmer-leaders are instrumental in actively shaping DFW’s marketing strategies, formulating organizational policies, approving business plans and budgets, and ensuring the responsible stewardship of vital dairy checkoff funds contributed by producers themselves.

As a non-profit organization funded directly by Wisconsin’s dairy farmers, DFW’s core mission is to aggressively develop markets for the state’s diverse range of dairy products and provide unwavering support for the entire Wisconsin dairy industry. The newly announced executive team and board members are crucial to executing this mission, ensuring that Wisconsin dairy maintains its competitive edge and continues to thrive in the complex landscape of international dairy economics.
