We are less than two months away from the Presidential election in November. Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are both going at full throttle to earn votes, especially in the swing states. While debates and global issues are high on the list of what people are looking at, the American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) sent a questionnaire of ag-related topics to both candidates and they have received their responses.
Joby Young is the Executive Vice President for the AFBF, and he says that the questionnaire is a key tool for rural Americans to understand where the candidates stand on rural issues.
The survey is made up of 14 questions that cover an array of rural topics, and concerns that farmers have. It covers topics like labor, taxes, crop insurance and more.
Young adds that the Farm Bureau is in a unique position to provide this information to farmers, ranchers, and rural America. It is a chance to have the candidates put their focus on rural issues only. It gives them an opportunity to be candid and keep their attention focused squarely on rural America.
