First Milk | First Milk receives King’s award for enterprise

Farmer-owned dairy co-operative First Milk has been awarded the prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise, ahead of the coronation on 6 May.

It is one of 148 UK business which have received the award this year for outstanding achievement.

First Milk was presented with the award for its work relating to sustainable development, with more than 96% of its members’ milk volume signed up to its regenerative farming programme.

The company will be able to use the King’s Award emblem on its packaging for the next five years.

First Milk chief executive Shelagh Hancock said: “The announcement of our King’s Award for Enterprise for sustainable development is fantastic recognition of the extensive work going on across our business around regenerative thinking and sustainability, including our market-leading regenerative agriculture programme.

“Our whole approach is closely aligned to the UN sustainable development goals, ensuring our actions help improve human lives and protect the environment while also delivering economic benefit.”
