Planned divestment makes this a good time to rebalance portfolios, co-op says.

Fonterra has announced changes in its senior management team for global responsibilities in ingredients and foodservice.

Chief executive Miles Hurrell said the planned divestment of its consumer businesses provided the appropriate time to make changes to management team roles.

As president, global ingredients, Richard Allen’s remit will expand to include Greater China and Middle East Africa.

He already has responsibility for ingredients across North America, North Asia, Asia Pacific and Europe.

“We are shifting to the front foot and driving greater value creation through our high-performing foodservice and ingredients businesses,” Hurrell said.

“Both Richard Allen and Teh-han Chow have extensive knowledge across these channels, and I know they are well placed to lead these teams to help the co-operative deliver our strategic goals.”

With the southeast Asia and Middle East Africa foodservice teams now moving to Chow, René Dedoncker’s title will change from managing director global markets consumer and foodservice to consumer only as he leads those businesses in scope for divestment.
