Lactalis Zambia, formerly known as Parmalat, has announced plans to close its manufacturing site in Zambia by March 31, 2025.

Commerce Minister Chipoka Mulenga says the government will work with Lactalis Zambia to ensure that the change has minimal impacts on the employees and the economy at large.

In a statement to ZNBC News, Mr. Mulenga said the government is ready to support the company should it reconsider its decision.

Mr. Mulenga met with Lactalis management in Lusaka .

The company has attributed its decision to market dynamics influenced by its competitors.
