The new Hornstra Dairy Farm is open at the former Peaceful Meadows property.
Anticipation of the rebranding and reopening of the ice cream stand and dairy shop has been building since John Hornstra, of Hornstra Farms in Norwell, bought the property in August for $1.925 million during an on-site auction that drew multiple bidders.
In addition to the ice cream stand and dairy shop, the sale included offices, a dairy processing building Hornstra is renovating and upgrading, 55 acres of farmland and a four-bedroom 19th-century farmhouse.
According to the company’s website, the dairy stores in both Whitman and Norwell are open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
While the ice cream stand in Norwell is closed for the season, the one in Whitman is open seven days a week from noon to 8 p.m.
