Representative Jenna Jacobson (D-Oregon) has received a Legislative Excellence Award from the Dairy Business Association. Jacobson, who represents the 43rd Assembly District, released the following statement on Friday, May 10:
“I am grateful for the work the Dairy Business Association does to highlight the needs of Wisconsin’s Dairy Farmers and Wisconsin’s commitment to sustainable agriculture. I am honored to receive this award. Together, we have supported many bipartisan pieces of legislation that include: creating a tax incentive for beginning farmers (AB 1124), increasing funding for agricultural road improvements (AB 244), creating a managed grazing program (AB 655), and expanding the Farmland Preservation Program (AB 133).
“Wconsin’s strong agricultural heritage shows how important our family farms are to us, which is why I’ve made it a priority to support farmers across our state. Partnering with farmers to work together on issues like safe drinking water, sustainable agriculture, and growing our next generation of farmers benefits everyone.
“I look forward to continuing to work with the Dairy Business Association, as well as other agriculture and environmentally-focused groups to continue to grow possibilities as we move Wisconsin forward.”
