Senator Bridget McKenzie, the Federal Agriculture Minister has released details of the final round of the consultation which will form the Mandatory code for the Australian Dairy Industry.

The code is to set rules between how processors can treat their dairy farm suppliers and what is acceptable in the contracts with between factories and dairy farmers.
Dairy farmers and interest groups have four weeks to make a submission before the code is introduced. The Mandatory code is set to come into place from January 2020.
