Midwest Dairy and Dollar General have joined together for a new promotional effort to increase demand for dairy products and build trust with consumers. Martha Kemper, vice president of dairy experience with Midwest Dairy, said the partnership is a unique and exciting way to reach consumers.

Originally, the effort was a joint program between Midwest Dairy and the University of Michigan, but it expanded as other dairy checkoffs joined. Kemper said they will be placing signs in stores through January 14th of next year to increase awareness and sales of milk.

With the reach that Dollar General has, especially in rural areas, Kemper said the store chain is a natural fit for a partnership.

Kemper added that these partnerships are vital to their goal of reaching consumers and promoting the growth of dairy sales.
