Chino residents and public groups, it’s time to churn out your opinions on the safety of your local dairy.

Scott Brothers Dairy has just released its Risk Management Plan (RMP) for public examination—a plan as crucial to preventing chemical disasters as pasteurization is to milk safety.

Starting today, through January 17, 2024, the blueprint detailing how the dairy intends to store anhydrous ammonia is up for scrutiny, according to the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District.

Anhydrous ammonia, often used in agricultural settings, can cause a real stink if not handled correctly.

But before a final seal of approval is stamped, locals are urged to smell out any potential issues.

For those interested in reviewing the documents, appointments can be arranged with the Hazardous Materials Section by calling (909) 386-8401 during business hours.

All comments must be whipped into writing and submitted by 5:00 p.m. on the January 17 deadline. Direct those cream-of-the-crop comments to the RMP Coordinator at the Hazardous Materials Section, San Bernardino County Fire Protection District; full address and details are churned out on their official website.
