It’s not hard to find a good excuse to enjoy a milkshake. One state association makes it even easier to choose this satisfying refreshment this National Dairy Month (and year-round)!

PA Dairymen’s Association has been serving up delicious treats since the 1870s, and it has been the official milkshake maker of the annual PA Farm Show since 1953. Their main goal is to support the main driver of Pennsylvania agriculture: dairy. In fact, dairy farming accounts for 47,000 jobs in Pennsylvania and represents the livelihood of almost 5,000 individual dairy families. It’s no surprise that milk is the official drink of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Beyond the PA Dairymen’s Association’s efforts to keep dairy production churning, they also give back to the community through their milkshake sales.

Proceeds from every shake benefit agricultural scholarships, youth programs, hunger prevention, Fill A Glass With Hope, the PA Dairy Princess program, Calving Corner, Future Farmers of America (FFA) career development, “Adopt a Cow” for elementary students, and many other educational and agricultural programs across Pennsylvania.

So no matter what flavor you choose, a meaningful mission is being accomplished because of your purchase. In just the past eight years, PA Dairymen’s Association has raised more than $4 million in the name of philanthropy.

Stay tuned for flavor updates, pop-up events, and news related to the PA Farm Show here.

The next PA Farm Show is set for next year from Jan. 4 through Jan. 11 at the PA Farm Show Complex & Expo Center in Harrisburg. You can look forward to the famous PA Dairymen’s Association milkshakes, as well as their fried cheese cubes, ice cream, grilled cheese sandwiches, and of course, locally-produced milk.
