In 2016, China put in place the ‘Healthy China 2030’ agenda, building on the country’s success in meeting several health-related targets within the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including to decrease neonatal and under-5 mortality rates. Danone is glad to support China’s ongoing efforts to support the health and wellbeing of people in China.

In June 2020 we strengthened our local capabilities for research and manufacturing of baby formula. We did this through the acquisition of a baby formula production site in Qingdao and the establishment of an open science research center in Shanghai dedicated to research into early life nutrition in China where over 100 experts in nutritional science are carrying out research into breast milk and gut health.

Nutrilon Yunhui stage 3 is Danone’s first formula milk to be produced in China for China – at Danone’s Qingdao production site. Launched in China at the beginning of April, the new formula is made from milk sourced from grass fed cows and contains a high level of vitamin D and four major vitamins in the vitamin B group.

We are proud to continue combining our global expertise in early life nutrition with local consumer insight and production capabilities to create products that support the health and nutritional needs of babies in China.

THE first of the major milk processors to announce a step-up, Fonterra, produced a 15 cent per kilogram milk solids increase to the minimum milk price for the 2024/25 season in Australia during the week.
