Jeff Hastings from the Wholey Milk company is proposing that milk will be processed on a new site in the North West before being shipped to the mainland and countries around the world.

The new process called Healen utilises a different method to the normal pasteurisation of milk and and tests have shown the milk being processed this way stays fresh for 60 days.

Jeff Hastings says this means shipping can be used to export the milk to various Australian states and to countries around the world some of which find it hard to source fresh milk

This is on top of an investment of €18,060 for extra soiled water storage and additional calf housing over the past ten years, based on a typical 100 cow dairy farm.
