Bremworth, a2 Milk and Synlait top NZX share price gains on the day.

Three listed primary sector companies headed the NZX share price gains table on February 17, putting on 17-20%.

Bremworth gained 10c or 20% after advising the market that some interest has been received in purchasing the company, and that the capital structure of the company will now be reviewed.

Second and third on the scoreboard were a2 Milk and its infant formula supplier Synlait, both taking heart from a2’s healthy interim results announced earlier in the day.

The a2 share price rose 19% or $1.25 to end the day at $7.83, which was a $900 million boost to its market capitalisation, now $5.68 billion.

However, Synlait’s viability issues have driven its price down as low as 25c in the past year and its recovery has a long way to go back to the $3 of two years ago.
