Conceived by local dairy farmer Graeme Lancey, the farm equipment clearing sale aims to provide producers with an organized market for quality pre-owned machinery and rural supplies. Scheduled to begin on the morning of September 2, the sale creates an active trade forum while raising funds for regional agricultural development initiatives.

All proceeds generated from the clearing sale will directly fund the Gardiner Foundation New Zealand Study Tour. This educational initiative offers local dairy enthusiasts and young producers hands-on exposure to international pastoral management practices, processing efficiency, and farm business strategies across the Tasman Sea. By channeling equipment sales into youth development, the event reinforces its commitment to intergenerational knowledge transfer within the Australian dairy industry.

Over its nearly three-decade history, the expo has developed into a critical fundraiser for local community projects. Operated entirely by volunteers, the event has directed more than $650,000 in proceeds back into Gippsland through various Lions Club initiatives, local infrastructure projects, and rural support services, demonstrating the economic synergy between regional agricultural events and local community well-being.
