Saputo Dairy Australia knows how high the stakes are if you aren’t able to secure a good supply of milk after completely closing its Maffra plant, after 100 years, and finishing bulk powder production at Leongatha late last year.
IN A EFFORT to stay ahead of the chasing pack, to secure milk supply for the new season, Saputo Dairy Australia (SDA) has advised suppliers of a revised opening, little more than two weeks after its initial opening announcement.
Their weighted average milk price of between $9.15 – $9.30 per kilogram milk solids, for exclusive supply in the 2023-24 season, is back up on some of the other major processors who also revised recently.
This is an increase of 17 cents per kilogram of butterfat and 34 cents per kilogram of protein. The revised milk price for exclusive supply is available to suppliers in the Northern region, South-West Victoria and South Australia region, Gippsland region and Tasmania (including King Island).
“Milk prices achieved at an individual farm level will vary based on specific milk supply circumstances.”
They said a schedule of updated monthly milk prices for exclusive supply during the 2023-24 season will be published in SDA’s milk supply agreements at www.saputodairyaustralia.com.au/milk-supply
