Sara Dady shares how immigration impacts dairy farming

Sara Dady from Dady Law Group is back with us tonight to talk about the impact immigration has on dairy farming in America.

She states that immigrant labor accounts for 51% of all dairy labor in this country. If that labor was suddenly taken away due to deportation, that would cause a major disruption to the farming economy. Currently, there is a program called the H-2A guestworker program.

This program allows agricultural employers to hire workers from other countries on temporary work permits for jobs that last 10 months or less. Sara believes that we as a country need something better and more permanent to help immigrant workers. Sara also believes that we need a more modern immigration policy as a whole.
