Ten cents from every bottle of Simply Milk will now support New Zealand's Social Supermarkets.
Simply Milk Supports Social Supermarkets

Simply Milk is part of Fonterra’s ongoing commitment to supporting Kiwis’ access to healthy food and nutrition, especially during times of increasing food insecurity. Consumers can make a difference in local communities by purchasing their everyday milk.

Simply Milk 2L has three variants: Standard Milk, Lite, and Calci. The bottle recently embraced a new look to highlight the new initiative and support for Social Supermarkets.

“Food insecurity is an issue for some New Zealanders. Every time a consumer purchases a bottle of Simply Milk, they will not only be receiving the nutritious goodness of fresh dairy milk, but they will also be helping thousands of New Zealanders who access Social Supermarkets every day with ten cents being contributed to the running of the stores,” said Renée Milkop-Kerr, Director of Marketing and Innovation, Fonterra Oceania.

“We have been watching how the sustainability landscape has been changing, alongside what is meaningful and relevant to consumers since we launched Simply Milk four years ago.”

Social Supermarkets provide food support to New Zealanders experiencing food insecurity. They offer greater dignity of choice and access to healthy food, allowing individuals and families to select the grocery items they need most, just like in a regular supermarket.

Listening to feedback from New Zealanders, Milkop-Kerr said it was evident that offering a 10-cent-a-bottle donation was more appealing and easier to understand because it was meaningful to consumers and gave them a chance to make a positive impact through their purchase, compared to ‘net carbon zero’ which had lower appeal and understanding.

Fonterra Oceania is dedicated to supporting its communities and making a difference. This initiative is part of its broader commitment to social responsibility and sustainability.
