Event 381 of the Global Dairy Trade (GDT), one of the main international benchmarks for dairy product prices, closed with a 1.6% drop in its overall price index compared to the previous auction.

This decrease puts the average winning price at USD 4,332 per metric ton, indicating a modest correction in the global market after several stable and upward sessions.

This latest trading event saw the participation of 166 registered bidders, with 117 winning bidders across 15 bidding rounds, lasting a total of 2 hours and 14 minutes. The total volume of dairy products sold reached 16,307 metric tons, within the predefined supply range of 15,811 to 20,117 metric tons.

This outcome suggests a cautious phase in international dairy trade, possibly influenced by seasonal trends, demand adjustments in key markets like China and the Middle East, and supply shifts from major exporting regions such as New Zealand, the U.S., and Europe. While the index decline is minor, it may reflect a short-term moderation in purchasing expectations.

Despite the decrease, the average price remains above the USD 4,000/ton mark, still representing profitable levels for many exporters. The GDT remains a key reference point for global dairy stakeholders, often serving as an early signal of international price trends and guiding commercial decisions across producing countries.
