According to the report, 1.279 billion pounds of milk were produced in June 2019 at New York state dairy farms, a 0.2% increase from June 2018. Last month, about 2,040 pounds of milk were produced per cow. A year ago, the USDA reported about 2,050 pounds per cow, but the overall production stemmed from an increase the number of cows.
Meanwhile, The average milk price received by New York dairy farmers in May 2019 ($18.60 per hundredweight) was up $0.20 from April 2019 and up $2.00 from May 2018.
