The milk industry is skeptical of how FDA approached the infant formula shortages

The two companies from Ireland and New Zealand were brought on to boost U.S. supplies, but the National Milk Producers Federation argues the situation is no longer an emergency because shelves are stocked at 80 percent.

They want the FDA to focus on making sure the formula sector is as resilient as possible, and allowing foreign suppliers access to U.S. markets is simply a “band-aid” that will not help long term.

This is on top of an investment of €18,060 for extra soiled water storage and additional calf housing over the past ten years, based on a typical 100 cow dairy farm.
