The UK average milk price for August 2019 was announced by Defra as being 28.80ppl, up 0.43ppl (1.5%) on the previous month.
The GB and NI average milk prices table and commentary will be updated in week commencing 7 October 2019.
The average price paid for milk in NI, in July, was 26.12ppl, 9.4% lower than the average paid in GB.
Prices paid on non-aligned contracts were 0.56ppl below those for aligned contracts in July.
The GB 5-year average price was 27.18ppl in July, down 2.5% from the same the month in 2018, when it was 27.87ppl, showing the relative stability of the 5-year average over the year.

The Defra average farmgate price is a weighted average calculated from information collected on total value and volumes of purchased milk in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland.
