Growing international demand increases opportunities to sell our milk beyond the Australian market for the highest price possible, supporting the Australian dairy industry to grow profitably.
Australian dairy farms produce more milk than can be consumed domestically and about 30 per cent is exported as a range of products. Without export, that volume of milk would stay in Australia, increasing domestic competition and limiting industry and farm business growth.
Our international trade activities focusing on improving market access gives us the opportunity to get a high return on Australian dairy products. Finding profitable markets for Australian dairy means more options for Australian dairy farmers and manufacturers.
