A Vietnamese factory has been granted with a transaction code to export its dairy products to China, Vietnam News Agency cited the Ministry of Industry and Trade as reporting on Tuesday.

Saigon Dairy Factory, under the Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk), has obtained the code from the Chinese General Administration of Customs on Monday, which allows the plant to export flavored fermented milk to the Chinese market, the news agency said.

Five Vietnamese companies and factories, including TH True Milk, Hanoimilk, Bel Vietnam and Vinamilk’s Thong Nhat Dairy Factory, have been permitted to sell dairy products such as sterilized and modified milk, fermented and flavored fermented milk, cheese, and condensed milk to China so far, according to the news agency.

Vietnam announced the export of the country’s first batch of milk products to China in October last year.

Local cheese maker Rowan Cooke was devastated when he heard King Island Dairy would be shutting down.
