Woolworths announces the return of its popular Bricks collectables

Woolworths has announced the return of a popular collectables scheme that hasn’t been offered publicly in two years.

The supermarket has this week revealed shoppers will soon be able to once again collect its popular plastic collectable Bricks – this time in a farm theme.

Instead of being made by 80 per cent recycled plastic like its 2021 launch, bricks will this time be entirely made out of repurposed materials.

Shoppers will be able to collect a variety of toys that make up a “farm ecosystem”, earning one for every $30 they spend in store, online, via Metro60, Pick Up and Direct to Boot.

Among the toys, collectable from February 8, will be a farmer, a beekeeper, a fruit and veg buyer, multiple farm animals, including a kelpie, The Odd Bunch fruit and veg, Macro products, a drone, a chicken coop, and fruit trees.

Items repurposed to make the bricks include old refrigerators, safety goggles, and luggage handles.

“As Today’s Fresh Food People, it is important that we share and celebrate the role our Aussie farmers play in providing the fresh produce customers enjoy,” Woolworths Group Chief Marketing Officer Andrew Hicks said.

“Woolworths Bricks Farm, made using 100 per cent recycled plastic, has been designed to show the intricate ecosystem of an Australian farm. We hope the second chapter of our Bricks collectable once again encourages our customers to learn more about where their food comes from through interactive play.”

The retailer said the bricks had been certified by GECA (Good Environmental Choice Australia) which meant they had met “robust environmental, human health and social impact criteria”.

President-elect Donald Trump’s protectionist America-first policy had been well forecast, but the size of his victory, and the fact his Republican Party also controls the Senate and Congress, gives him extensive influence and power.
