Sheep-milking company grows share of processing company by 12%.
Spring Sheep has bought a 12% stake in Melody Dairies, the facility that processes the sheep milking company’s milk.
Since its establishment in 2019, he factory at Ruakura in Hamilton has been a key manufacturing partner for Spring Sheep.
Spring Sheep acquired its stake in Melody Dairies from Pāmu, reducing its share from 44% to 32%.
Spring Sheep chief operating officer Thomas Macdonald said the acquisition is of great strategic importance to the company.
“The purchase of Melody Dairies secures our future processing capacity and enhances our quality control measures. Direct management and ownership of the facility are critical for our growth, particularly as we prepare for a significant increase in the production of infant formula and specialty powdered products in the upcoming dairy season.”
Melody Dairies was developed by Nu-Mega Ingredients, Pāmu and Dairy Nutritionals Limited. The facility is dedicated to producing high-value powdered products, specialising in infant formula and dairy nutritionals.
“Melody Dairies enables Spring Sheep to deliver advanced infant formula and nutritional products to our customers, with assured production capacity and quality,” Macdonald said.
